Lesson Overview

What To Expect on Your First Driving Lesson
We will take you to a quiet piece of road to help introduce you to all the controls of the car, focusing on moving off safely and stopping.
How to prepare for your First Driving Lesson?
A provisional licence will be required when taking your theory test, hazard perception and practical driving tests. You’ll also need it ready for your first driving lesson.
Dress for Comfort
It is also important to make sure you have comfortable flat shoes. Having comfortable, flat sole shoes is advised to take any driving lesson as you can feel the pedals more.
Remember your Glasses/Contacts
Before you can start the driving lesson/test you must demonstrate that your eyesight is good enough to be able to drive safely. You do this by reading a clean number plate of the old style from a minimum distance of 20.5 metres (approximately 67 feet or 5 car lengths).
After your First Driving Lesson
Once your lesson has finished you will go back to your pickup point, and we will review the lesson and fill out the reflective log to discuss the steps you will take over your next lesson.
